Fishing

• Wentzel dam
  • We got a small dam, but great dam for fishing. Geelfish, Baber and Carp’s is the main attraction.
• Bloemhof dam
  • Bloemhof dam is one of South-Africa’s biggest fishing competition attractions through the year and is only 60km away from us.
• Taung dam
  • A beautiful dam, very big, with the cleanest water. Here you can fish for more than only Carps, here are also a good place for Bass fishing.

Game farms

• Uurpan
  • Uurpan is only a few km out of town, and here are game drives, hunting packets and many more.
• Impofo game farm
  • Is about 60km away in the Amalia direction, with a great hunting experience
• SA Lombard Nature Reserve
  • About 60km away we got SA Lombard Nature reserve, with some of the big 5 also to see.

Museums and places to visit

• Sandstone art
  • In and around Schweizer koppie we got sandstone art.
• Taung skull heritage site
  • About 60 km away we got Taung skull heritage site, but also Taung dam with it’s beautiful nature view, a must see.
• Leon Taljaard Nature reserve
  • The 2 000 hectare Leon Taljaard Nature Reserve is right next door to the Swartfontein resort and contains white rhino, eland, buffalo, black and blue wildebeest, waterbuck, Burchell’s and mountain zebra and springbuck.
